I'm don't know when they inked this deal, but when the video first went live, it wasn't available in an embeddable player. I wrote a short snark faulting them for not having it ready to share and like the rest of us, Wonkette also provided just the link without any film. In the beginning, that was the only way to share the clip, via a simple link.

Once again, I don't know the particulars of the deal, but way to get with the program, Mr Obama. Not only did John Edwards pre-announce in an embeddable player, but on the actual day, he YouTubed a town hall meeting.

What I like about Brightcove is the simplicity and ease of incorporating it to your site. I worked on a project with a flash developer and spent weeks going back and forth trying to come up with a flash video player that was easy to update and friendly to use. Turned out to be a costly proposition and never got what I really wanted. I think Brightcove is onto something, however the web is full of “do-it-yourselfers” and the adoption may be slow for producers to user the Brightcove service.
