The ABC.com Web developers are a critical part of ABC.com’s success.
You will work in the Technology and Engineering group and alongside
the other members of our web development and production teams. You
will have hands-on responsibilities for the development, testing, and
deployment of front-end software solutions centered around some of the
most popular television content today; this includes high-traffic web
sites, industry-leading broadband applications, and other
groundbreaking R & D projects. The environment is fast-paced and the
goals are demanding; but the projects are unique, the work is
rewarding and the crew likes to have fun. Our ideal candidate is
creative, energetic, deeply knowledgeable about the latest web
technologies, and has a passion for demonstrating skill and precision

The Web developer works closely with other front-end developers,
software engineers, systems engineers, and visual designers to:

• Develop robust and reusable template components

• Design scalable content management structures

• Implement new web designs and features

• Build new functionality using a combination of powerful,
proprietary Disney Internet Group software solutions and modern web
technologies

The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of web standards,
DHTML, cross-browser compatibility, HTTP GET/POST & headers, dynamic
content retrieval and page rendering, state management, and
client/server interaction.

The ABC.com team is a dynamic and growing group responsible for
ABC.com, Oscar.com, and ABC’s industry-leading digital media
efforts.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
in field

• 3+ years web development experience using DHTML, CSS, JS

• Strong communication skills

• Interest in Digital Media

• Love of Technology, Television, and ABC shows!

Specific Skills Required:

• HTML, DHTML (JavaScript 1.0-1.5, CSS1 & 2), HTTP, XML

• Experience working with source control systems (VSS, CVS, PVCS,
etc.)

• Experience with Content Management Systems and Web Publishing

• Understanding of Object Oriented Programming and Design

• Web Development Best Practices

• ActionScript, PHP, AJAX, Databases a big plus
