DESCRIPTION: Writes, produces, directs, narrates voiceovers, and
performs on-camera talent duties such as field reporting, studio
anchoring, and talk show hosting for television programs, program
segments, commercials and promotional spots, and other video projects
at Emmy award-winning, Southeastern Louisiana University cable
television channel reaching 250,000 viewers. Coordinates all aspects
of preproduction, production, and postproduction for programs and
projects. Coordinates and supervises weekly student news show and
other student programs. Trains and mentors university students in all
aspects of television preproduction, production, and postproduction.
Includes teaching students techniques of producing, writing,
directing, reporting, studio anchoring, on-camera presentation,
videography, studio control room operations, and editing. If holder
of a Master`s degree, may be called upon to teach university courses
in television production.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree preferably in communications,
television production, broadcast journalism, or a related field.
Master’s degree preferred. Minimum two years of producing, writing,
field reporting, and studio anchoring/hosting television news, news
magazine, documentary, and talk show formats. Demonstrated knowledge
and understanding of daily news show production. Demonstrated
experience writing and producing television commercials or
promotional spots. Demonstrated strong on-camera appearance and
presentation skills. Preferred demonstrated skill and experience with
Final Cut Pro editing and operation of Sony DSR-570 camera and Canon
GSL-1 camera, or equivalents. Must have knowledge and understanding
of camera, lighting, audio, and editing aesthetics/techniques and
equipment operation.

SUBMIT: Qualified applicants must submit a complete packet consisting
of a letter of application addressing qualifications and experience, a
VHS or DVD demo reel (with legend showing what projects written,
narrated, on-camera reported, produced, directed, anchored, edited,
shot, etc.), résumé, names and contact information for at least
three references, and copies of transcripts from all
universities/colleges attended (original transcripts required upon
