CBS has reached agreement on a three-year contract extension with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) that includes some interesting provisions. Among them - CBS agrees to “actively look for opportunities to assign IBEW technicians to perform work for the Internet and emerging media.”

News Corp’s Rupert Murdoch is teaming with the Chandler Family to take a minority position in bidding for the Tribune Company. Murdoch’s goal would be to combine back office and operational functions of Tribune’s Newsday with News Corp’s New York Post.

The three new series on AOL Living feature cooking, home entertaining and home improvement workshops, hosted by lifestyle experts. Over the course of the GMC sponsorship, AOL will produce 78 episodes total, running 3-5 minutes each. Some top House Republicans want to slap warning labels on analog TV sets that read, “This TV has only an analog broadcast tuner and will require a converter box after Feb. 17, 2009, to receive over-the-air broadcasts.” The proposed bill would also require broadcasters to file regular reports with the FCC detailing their consumer education efforts. The NAB has endorsed the legislation.
