New CBS deal with IBEW includes multiplatform jobs
Steve Safran January 23rd, 2007
CBS has reached agreement on a three-year contract extension with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) that includes some interesting provisions. Among them - CBS agrees to “actively look for opportunities to assign IBEW technicians to perform work for the Internet and emerging media.”

Good for the IBEW, good for CBS. Complete 180 from the mood at NBC, which outsources or steadfastly keeps unions away from new media jobs.

I still don’t get the reason to pay Couric a reported $15 mil and Vieira a reported $12 mil a year.
Couric is in over her head.
Vieira is too. Any consultant would rip her to shreads with all the shifty eye movement when she has no clue to which camera to take, or her lighter than light approach in crosses.

Uh… What does the host of “Today” have to do with a CBS deal with the Electrical Union?
