Producer

Position Summary: Responsible for creating, coordinating, and executing programs and content for MVS. Provides editorial and production direction to other team members on content, coordination, and program execution. Coordinates efforts of production staff toward crafting the most compelling program possible.

Minimum Qualifications
All qualifications must be met, to be considered.

Education: Bachelors degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, or a related field is preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 1year of line producing newscasts for a television or cable station. 2 years preferred. Experience using Avid, Scarborough, MS Office, and wide orbit highly desirable.

Specific Knowledge: Must have a superior knowledge of program/newscast presentation and through the use of excellent writing, producing, and graphics, be able to provide an interesting and substantive product.

Skills and abilities: Must be flexible in regards to work schedules and be a hands on team player. Must be results oriented focusing on the coordination of daily and long range segments from the first contact to on-air product. Script writing and editorial experience is preferred. Must be able to communicate effectively, verbally, in writing, and in person. Strong computer skills are required. Good phone manners and the ability to work well with team members in a creative, fast-paced environment. Ability to make quick decisions without losing composure. Must be able to multitask and manage multiple projects and assignments simultaneously. Must have a valid driver’s license.
