Reporter

Position Summary: Develop, write and report stories and events presenting them live or on tape in support of MVS programming strategies. Coordinate with assignment editors and producers on story elements and content. Gather, package, and broker information about a topic or subject to the viewer.

Minimum Qualifications
All qualifications must be met, to be considered.

Education: College degree in Broadcast journalism, Communications or related field preferred.

Experience: Minimum of three years experience in broadcast journalism. Experience reporting news at a commercial TV Station or cable network preferred.

Specific Knowledge: Knowledge of how to blend words and pictures into informative and interesting stories. Knowledgeable about legal and ethical issues affecting journalism.

Skills and abilities: Must be able to develop knowledge of the locale, story elements, demographics and characters. Must be able to edit stories when necessary. The reporter is expected to effectively communicate or narrate ideas and concepts to the viewer. Must be able to perform quality work under high pressure deadline situations. Needs to be an excellent communicator, both written and verbal. Must have a valid driver’s license.
