Job Summary:

Writes and edits news, integrating compelling and creative text,
still images, audio and video. Possesses the online acumen need to
provide added value to reports initially developed by broadcast
reporters. Plans for the long-term growth of the site, sets
priorities and plans coverage for major events. Thinks strategically
about developing the site’s audience and the online capacities of
newsroom staff.

Qualifications required:

B.A. in Journalism or related field 3-5 years prior experience
working for a television news station, daily newspaper or in an
on-line news environment. Prior supervisory experience helpful.
Ability to work in a team setting with broadcast partners. Ability to
deliver integrated compelling news stories quickly and accurately,
using sound news judgment. Ability to prioritize, work independently,
and manage simultaneous assignments within an intense deadline-driven
environment. Ability to influence across the organization and work
effectively with all levels of management and staff. Knowledge of
editing and AP stylebook standards and able to pass IB’s editing
test. Strong knowledge and familiarity with the Internet.
