You should really thank Reade King for his insights. If you don’t understand them, maybe take a few months off from your submissiveness to idiotic authority (which can be quite a hoot, I admit) and re-reade his message. Thats what I did, And now I am once again aligned with many silly ideas that actualy make more sense than the party line. And I violate grammatical rules on whim. Go figure.

I (now) think Peter and Sean (the perps) deserve places in the cultural hall of fame. February had gotten pretty boring untill they paralized Boston with bad sculptures of relatively unknown cartoon characters.

And just think if they had put up the corporate mouse everywhere under bridges and by the road or in your nostrils? No-one would have noticed–at all–the corporate mouse–made of flashing LEDs–so what–no big–so not the drama–so very last millenea. The corporate mouse is already everywhere, like air, no one notices anymore.

Pass the schlock, please.

why do people keep calling them hoax devices or pranks? How is it even a stunt? its a fucking light up image of a cartoon character! even if you dont know the show how could you ever in a million years connect that to terrorism. I would be increadably embarased if I were from boston. To think that the people running the justice system there are supposed to be educated people blows my mind, and the fact that the rest of the city is taking them seriously is retarted! I thank god I live in Vancouver!

Hey, I thought I would make a comment that would not be read by anyone at all, and express my opinion. Anyone who disagrees with me is a stupid fool and needs to go back to grade school.

If anything, they need to be charged with vandalism. I love the cartoons, trust me. Aqua teen, Metalocalypse, and eh….Those are the only good ones, I guess. Robot Chicken too….but anyway, I thought it was funny how they made statements about hair seeing as they couldn’t about the real matter at hand. Though it may have been a bad move, giving people the impression their a couple of jackasses who don’t care, it was still funny.

I feel that this prank or advertising scheme or whatever is all a bit stupid, both in the implementation of the stunt and in Boston’s reaction to it. If you’re trying to drum up publicity for your show, that is NOT the way to go about it… Who except for ATHF fans knew who the Mooninites were before all of this? I think that the “perpetrators” also could have at least let the police and other entities know what was going on just to cover themselves legally; I saw a three-minute flick of them putting the signs up in the middle of the night, and I see no reason why they couldn’t have swung through a cop stop and said something during their little adventure. With all that said, I don’t believe that the city should come down on them as hard as they’re talking, for they had absolutely no intent of harming anyone. I could see how one could think those things were some sort of bomb, but I’m absolutely sure that they weren’t thinking that when they were putting the signs together. All in all, I’m not affected; I’m still a loyal Aqua Teen fan, and I will always be waiting for a new episode (even if they do get thrown in jail for a while!)

I am an ultra conservative. I have been since I was 15 and read 1984. I am now 40. I see this as a tremendous over reaction by the Boston Keystone cops. I honestly see this a an overblown reaction to power hungry people who can’t see themselves as silly. If this had been interpreted as a threat by 9 other large cities around the country the respose would have been warranted. Boston was the only entity that displayed no commmon sense. This was even displayed at the arrainment of the 2 innnocent men. Their judge should have said this is silly and dismissed it then and there. Come on get a life. This was no different than high school president campaign flyers.

They’re damned Lite Brites. Snazzy-ass Lite Brites of cartoon characters. Whoever mistook them for bombs is absolutely retarded and should be shoved into the Charles while wearing a brick suit. Seriously. There’s something in their water, or their Sam Adams, or their chowdah, or every person who called 911 is the spawn of siblings who bred. Something is wrong with them. This is the stupidest panic since the “War of the Worlds” radio broadcast.

If terrorists are going to place a bomb, people, it’s not going to look like a Lite Brite. It’s going to look innocuous and then kill people, not be shiny and flashy and attract attention to itself. This is why people in other, non-inbred cities did NOT makes panicked 911 calls, because they actually pay attention to the news and have half a clue.

I don’t think Boston “panicked,” nor were the police incompetent. Unusual devices were found where devices did not belong, and it seemed to be a coordinated event. Boston took responsible action. 9/11 did happen and it did change the rules. Some rather forget that and watch cartoons. These are the same people who get their political opinions from stand-up comics and The Daily Show. Then they call Bush stupid, go figure.

Let’s face it everyone…no mistake was made!!! In lieu of our tenuous current culture and uncertanties presented over the years (especially, post 9-11,) the actions taken by the Boston officials were warranted! If the careless & egocentric advertising agency responsible would own up to an ill advised campaign & make restitution… business maturity will be shown. To deny responsibility and blame the client … (Turner Broadcasting & Cartoon Network) would be a mistake that they will live to regret.

The cartoon by the way is rubbish. Tried to enjoy it…. but whoa… found it painful. Essentially the same as I found the 2 “hairy” individuals who were arrested and would not answer media queries unless they were “hair” related. Please!!!!

Lesson to be learned here…ask carefully beforehand what job you’re undertaking!!!!

while i can understand peoples obvious reaction. nobody has a sense of humor anymore. its your own faults for taking everything so seriously. quite frankly i find this to be probably one of the funniest things ive ever heard and for someone to say the need to be jailed for it is rediculous. you should be jailed for even bringing it up
