QA Engineers, Brightcove

Brightcove is a venture-backed startup, pioneering a new online
service for the delivery of Internet TV. This is a rare opportunity

feel of interactive media and television. We are seeking several QA
Engineers who will thrive on working as part of a talented and highly
agile engineering team. You should be comfortable multi-tasking,
handling interrupts, and love finding bugs.

Responsibilities:

• Create, maintain and review test plans, test data and test cases

• Manual and automated execution of regression tests

• Record results and report defects

• Analyze reported bugs and work with software developers, customer
support and QA to resolve bugs

• Configure and maintain Linux, Windows and Macintosh based test
systems

• Help develop test standards and procedures

• Be a major contributor to the development of the QA test
framework

• Team lead on some projects

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Mathematics

• 3 - 5+ years Software QA experience in an n-tier Java/Linux
environment (Apache, Tomcat, Oracle)

• Prior experience implementing an automation test framework

• Working knowledge of shell scripting

• Working knowledge of SQL

• Excellent knowledge of Internet/Web technologies including web
browsers, http, html and xml.

• Familiarity testing web application, particularly sites
implemented in JSP

• Experience testing flash and/or flex based UI’s

• Excellent analytical skills

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Experience troubleshooting problems and isolating defects. Strong
problem solving skills.

• Must be a self-starter, self-managed individual who can quickly
adjust priorities and maintain productivity

• Confidence to participate and contribute in a fast-paced and
technologically aggressive development team

• Two or more of the following are required:

• Good Java programming skills

• 2+ years experience as a Linux Systems Engineer

• Experience Performance and Scalability testing a J2EE
application

• Experience creating a web based QA results repository/test case
management system using jsp, php, tomcat and oracle or mysql

• Experience with any of the following is a plus:

• Coding in action script

• Familiarity testing Flash video players and/or Windows Media
Player experiences

• Experience testing DRM solutions
