DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: KGO-TV/ABC7 has an immediate opening for a Web Producer/Writer to work in coordination with the staff of the live, daily one-hour program, The View from the Bay. The Web Producer/Writer will be responsible for writing and producing compelling interactive stories and sidebar elements for this section of our Web site. This producer will also write, rewrite, edit, produce and update site content; work closely with the Executive Producer of the show; produce and edit video. Applicants should have ability to write headlines, stories, teasers and copyedit on deadline. The person will also write and produce news content for abc7news.com.

REQUIREMENTS: Minimum 2 years Internet, broadcast or print news writing and editing experience. Prior experience working in a newsroom environment a plus.

• Excellent news judgment and strong writing skills

• Knowledge of Internet technologies including HTML

• Experience with imaging programs such as Photoshop and/or Fireworks and experience with streaming video and video editing.

• Understanding of a newsroom editorial process as it relates to an interactive, online and television environment

• Communicate clearly and meet deadlines

• Desire to work in a fast paced, deadline-driven, intense breaking news environment is a must

• Available to work weekends, evenings, early-morning hours and holidays
