Wow. THAT’s not an overreaction. In Boston, we cross streets while listening to the iPod, talking on a cellphone, chewing gum and wearing a blindfold. And we LIKE it that way.

I agree, what a stupid proposal! From the beginning to the end of time there will always be people who don’t pay attention. Stop blaming technology for society’s ills . . . . doesn’t anyone take personal responsibility anymore??

Horrible idea. Massive overreaction
(a) Who’s going to enforce this? Shouldn’t police be catching criminals instead of ipod owners.
(b) Look both ways before you cross the street… it’s the first thing parents teach you.

Now, if it was a ban on Zunes maybe I couldn’t understand it.

We should also ban Fabulous Babes from crossing the street. They always distract me…

This would CERTIANLY be easier to impliment than teaching people the “Left, Right, Left” rule again. [/sarcasm]

man where to start. maybe with a suggestion? perhaps the senator should persue eliminating the NUMBER 1 cause of DEATH which is of course BIRTH! Birth causes 100% death!! it must be stopped!! The senator is an idiot.

I impose this rule on myself. I can’t pay attention to what I’m doing or where I’m going if I’m engrossed in conversation or a story on NPR. So I don’t use an iPod, and I stop to talk if someone calls me. I’ve had plenty of close scrapes. Perhaps I’m the only one who’s distracted, though. Me and the dead guy.
