Position/Title: Sports Anchor

Group/Location: KPTV FOX-12, PDX-49/Portland, OR

Position Summary:

Develop and present sportscasts which are appealing to the station’s viewers. Manage sports department to achieve goal of producing the best sportscasts in the market.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

 Research, develop, write, and produce interesting and informative sports events/stories.
 Perform as on-air talent for the sports segment of Good Day Oregon and/or the 10 O’Clock News.
 Plan and coordinate broadcast coverage of the various sport events/activities.
 Conduct interviews with sports personalities.
 Provide statistical information of scores and other important or interesting facts for the production of graphics.

Minimum Qualifications – All must be met to be considered.
Four year college/university degree in Journalism, Communications, or other related field. Minimum three years television experience as a sports reporter/anchor. In depth knowledge of all aspects of professional and amateur sports.

Skills and Abilities:

 Excellent oral communication with a strong on-air presence.
 Must be able to perform quality work under high pressure deadline situations.
 Excellent writing and producing skills.
 Ability to manage all aspects of a sports department.
