in next-generation visual journalism. Orlando Sentinel
Communications is producing some of the most innovative vodcasts,
video reports and shows for the Web, in addition to broadcast
productions. You will be blazing the trail in a digital world, and
be a part of Tribune Company, which owns TV and newspapers in the top
markets acros the country.
We’re looking for someone who’s thinking outside the box… and wants
to create new ways to engage the YouTube audience with visual
journalism.
Major Purpose
Producing video and audio content for our broadcast partners,
OrlandoSentinel.com and any Orlando Sentinel production.
Major Responsibilities
Produce and edit video segment and entire programs for broadcast
and online use. Producing duties can include; writing, planning and
supervising shoots, graphics, working with subjects and talent, and
editing the final product.
Capturing, encoding and uploading video to the WorldNow video
player on OS.com, with careful attention to titling, captioning and
catagorizing.
Producing audio and video podcasts, using production facilities,
compression/coversion software, and “Assembler” to upload to the
correct channel on OS.com.
Assist in the production of any video or audio production by
operating a video camera or recording device, assisting in the
recording or editing of a production, or assisting in any
transmission of a live video/audio feed.
Requirements
Four year college degree
One to three years experince in video and/or multimedia
production including; non-linear video editing, audio and video
recording, videography, and digital media encoding.
Skilled at various computer software applications including
Microsoft Office tools, and video prodution software including Final
Cut and Avid.
Valid drivers’ license
Ability to work in a highly deadline oriented environment.
Excellent writing and communication skills.
Strong organization skills; must be detail oriented and deadline
driven
Experience with Web production tools – illustration, graphics,
Web design and multimedia project creation: HTML, HTML editing
software, PhotoShop (high-end graphics)
Authority
The producer acts within company policy to do whatever is necessary
to produce credible, high quality video packages. However, without
the Production Manager’s approval he/she may not:
Deviate or modify company policy
Enter into a relationship with an employee which may or appear to
have, an adverse effect upon his/her ability to carry out his/her
responsibilities.
