Tribune Interactive (TI), a division of Tribune Company is a national
leader in interactive marketing. TI reaches 14 million consumers each
month, and serves many of the nation’s leading advertisers through
the Web sites of major daily newspapers such as the Los Angeles
Times, Chicago Tribune and Newsday, and via relationships with
strategic partners such as CareerBuilder, Cars.com and ShopLocal.
TI is currently recruiting for a Manager of Communications who will
recommend, develop and disseminate communications and materials that
support TI business objectives. In this role, you‘ll gather input
from executives across the company to develop strategies to inform,
update and motivate Tribune staff about TI’s continued momentum.
Your razor-sharp writing skills will shine in newsletters and other
communiqués that keep internal stakeholders up to speed on key
initiatives and success stories. You will produce press releases and
copy for other external and internal marketing materials, and enjoy
developing press relationships through your outreach efforts. And
your interest and skills in Web site management will be put to use as
you maintain and enhance the Web-based materials that support TI
staff.
Responsibilities of the successful candidate include:
·Gather input from executives and other stakeholders across
organization to understand needs and opportunities in communications
initiatives; develop a continuous input loop to ensure continuous
improvement
·Develop and execute internal communications programs to increase
Tribune stakeholders’ knowledge of key initiatives, and
understanding of benefits to the company and its customers. These
will include new product development and launch efforts, progress on
key growth strategies, and other organizational news
·Develop and execute external consumer and trade communications
programs to grow awareness and knowledge of current and new products,
to increase engagement among consumers and advertisers
·Conduct public relations activities, including media and article
pitching, outreach list creation and relationship management
·Manage marketing department Intranet site, to maximize benefit of
information and tools delivered to internal customers throughout
Tribune Company
Required skills/Experience:
·5+ years of experience in internal and external corporate
communications
·Outstanding written and oral communications skills; ability to
communicate effectively with senior executives and to adapt style to
varying audiences
·Direct experience in public relations, Web information creation,
and advertising preferred
·Knowledge of interactive media and marketing landscape required;
specific knowledge of online and multi-channel advertising and
promotion services strongly preferred
·Ability to provide clear, concise communication of product benefits
and value
·High level of creativity and innovation; a self-starter who can
prioritize and work autonomously
·Ability to understand and synthesize market data to support
communications materials
·Ability to collaborate and thrive within a highly matrixed,
demanding environment
·Proficient in all common PC software applications (e.g. Microsoft
Office)
·Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism or public relations
