Digital Producer of High School Sports, Req #021-07
POSITION STATEMENT:
Oversees the development and execution of high school sports coverage
on multiple Hearst-Argyle television websites.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Oversees the development and execution of high school sports coverage
on multiple Hearst-Argyle television websites.
Develops coverage concepts and templates for successful presentation
of high school sports video, text, statistics and images garnered
from professional staffers.
Develops coverage concepts and templates for successful presentation
of high school sports video, text, statistics and images garnered
from amateur users.
Works closely with station news, sports and marketing staffs in the
acquisition and training of high school students to serve as student
reporters for the web and television.
Oversees development and execution of station relations with high
schools for the purpose of marketing and statistic gathering and
presentation.
Monitors station sites daily to ensure compliance with best practices
and provides regular feedback and assistance to stations in the form
of teaching best practices.
Regularly consumes online sites that cater to teen demographics.
Works with vendors who may supply creative, statistical or content
support for high school page.
Innovates ideas that can improve the user interface and capitalizes
on social networking technology
Occasionally travels to stations to provide on-site consulting and
support.
Oversees operations and content systems to provide high school
information various platforms including text, mobile and other
hand-held devices.
QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES)
REQUIRED:
Experience in acquiring video, text, statistics and utilizing social
networking tools is expected.
The ideal candidate has prior experience orchestrating high school
sports coverage, preferably for digital applications.
A demonstrated background producing online content targeted for high
school audiences and working with high schools and stringers is
preferable.
You’re expected to help direct and teach digital content and
production concepts either on-site or remote.
