We have an opening for a Sr. Marketing Manager for our Enterprise
Broadcast Marketing Group who will be working with the major
broadcast networks worldwide. We’re looking for someone who thinks
outside of point products and more towards solutions selling. I’ve

Sr. Marketing Manager, Enterprise/Broadcast

Position Summary:

The Sr. Marketing Manager, for Enterprise Markets (Broadcast) is a
worldwide position whose task is to lead the communication efforts of
product and solutions offerings to target customers and prospects. The
Marketing Manager will be expected to have strong knowledge of
products geared to the Enterprise/Broadcast marketplace as well as a
strong knowledge of industry history, persona and future trends. This
person will be a leader of a 3-5 person team, and will in essence be
responsible for the overall marketing success of Avid to this
Marketplace. The candidate is expected to have experience and skills
in effective product positioning, product messaging and the
development of effective go-to-market strategies. The Product Market
Manager will also be responsible for the collection of market and
competitive data for the purposes of analysis and market/product
strategy recommendations. This position requires strong leadership
and organizational skills; outstanding communication and
problem-solving skills; strong analytic abilities; and experience in
assessing marketing effectiveness to evolve strategy based on
results.

Primary Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Ensure success of Avid in a chosen market

a. Positioning Avid’s products and brand within the market

b. Create a deep understanding of the market within the company

i. Avid’s strengths and weaknesses

ii. Opportunities

iii. Competitive landscape

c. Develop and communicate, internally and externally, clear goals
for Avid and it’s product within the market

d. Develop and communicate a clear strategy for attacking the market

e. Create high visibility of Avid’s products, successes, strategy
and future vision within the market

f. Ensure Avid has representation on, and involvement with,
appropriate industry bodies.

2. Ensure everything is in place to allow products to succeed in
chosen market by creating and communicating;

a. correct features

b. pricing and promotions (including a clear, up to date, pricebook)

c. sales tools

d. information (technical, configuration, competitive)

e. feedback to:

i. Product Management

ii. marcom

iii. support

f. positioning, customer profiling

g. demonstrations, demonstration materials, demonstrators and
demonstration equipment

h. sales and product training

i. Track product successes and market penetration

3. Track, and make company aware of market size and available
opportunity. Also keep track of Avid, and it’s competitor’s,
market penetration

4. Ensure the market is aware of Avid’s success and standing within
the market (this information should also be communicated within Avid
itself)

5. Third parties

a. who do we work with and how

i. Make decisions, working with product management, regarding the
choice of partners and their level of integration with Avid

ii. Make the market, and Avid staff, aware of any third party
relationships and integration work done

b. who should we be working with (identify new ones to generate
opportunities)

6. Lead a team

a. Act as the leader and manager of a team dedicated to the chosen
market, including product marketing managers, market specialists,
assistants, etc.

b. Be responsible for the overall success of the team in this
marketplace.

c. Allocate personnel resources to respond to the demand of internal
clients as well as the overall success.

d. Hire and manage new or existing members of the team to the
standards outlined by Avid personnel management criteria

7. Maintaining a high level of knowledge of Enterprise/Broadcast
market conditions and major market/product issues.

8. Lead in the development of Market Requirement documents for the
purposes of future product planning.

9. Available as public spokesperson for tradeshows, press interviews,
customer visits, events.

10. Work with Product Managers in the creation, and continuing
success, of a community of product experts for Avid WW. This group
should be used as a major source of information on local markets and,
as a group, be used to inform Tewksbury of European market issues and
so force a resolution to current issues and be a guide to future
product direction.

11. Identify new opportunities and/or go-to-market strategies in
chosen market

12. Research vertical markets and provision of materials to help
address any new markets identified that have significant sales
potential

13. Responsible for pricing models and product forecasting

14. Work in close cooperation with Marcom to create, and ensure
successful implementation, of Avid WW Marketing Plan

15. Travel WW for the purposes of communicating outbound or to gain
market insight. Meet with internal sales personnel, pre-sales
personnel, resellers and/or customers

Qualifications

- Minimum of 10 years in marketing, product management and/or sales
of high technology or media production solutions

- Experience in developing and deploying marketing programs to
engineering personnel, IT personnel and C-Level executives in the
broadcast market.

-A proven track record of strong personnel management skills

-Strong background in the Broadcast media production market,
Storage/infrastructure market, and/or enterprise solutions for the
high tech marketplace.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to have highly productive conversations with customers and
prospects

- Ability to build relationships across departments and divisions

- Ability to present to and influence cross functional peers and C
level executives
