Position Summary:
The News Operations Manager will supervise the photographers and editors in the newsroom. This position will also be responsible for overseeing and managing the news vehicle fleet, the Avid editing system, and the camera and field gear. In addition, this position will assist in making news capital and supply purchases.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage news photography staff
Manage news editing staff
Manage news fleet vehicles
Manage capital purchases for newsroom
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications – All must be met to be considered.
Four year degree preferred. Avid editing storage and system maintenance ENG and SNG training. 5 years plus of daily news experience.
Skills and Abilities
Working knowledge of Avid editing system ENG microwave and SNG transmission.
Ability to communicate effectively to staff and news management team.
Must be able to monitor and control costs within news department.
Clean driving record.
