“If we budget that for that in 2009, what will the click-thru rates be on the sign?”

“How will we monetize the sign?”

“What if someone spray paints something someone might consider offensive on that sign? Couldn’t we be sued?”

“We found a company that will put up the sign for free, provided we use their logo instead.”

“Where do the anchor heads go on the sign?”

“Corporate has a terrific idea. They’re gonna send us a free sign that has the network name and all we have to do is put our number on the end in duct tape!”

“We found an intern who took woodshop. He’ll do the sign for credits.”

“We’ll put up the web sign. But only the day after we put up the TV sign.”

“I hear something about ‘blogs.’ Get the sign to blog.”

“Can’t we just put up a scrolling ticker sign and take the logo from the wire?”

“We’re going to have our web staff install the sign. They’re web people, so they know how to put up banners.”

“We’re worried the web sign will cannibalize viewers away from our TV sign.”

“ok, but we put in on the BACK of the building!”

But people aren\’t using their laptops while driving, are they??? Perhaps we should do something for sweeps on that…

  • Don Day

We’ve had our web logo on the building for more than five years. I never really thought of it as being unusual I guess.

We can deal with the web sign, after we get the masonry people here to chisel out the old TV logo from the brick.

  • Cory Bergman

    Ha, Dave, exactly.

Or… Corporate is evaluating vendors to put up the sign. It’ll take a year or two, max.

  • Safran

    Dave: Outstanding.

Me: Hey boss, whatcha working on?

Boss: Well employee, we’ve got to change the logos on the front of the station since some of the radio stations have changed format and we’ve changed the branding for the TV station.

Me: Cool. [Looks at artist's rendering of new logos on building facade]. Boss? Where’s the dotcom logo?

    Boss: What dotcom logo?

    Me: For the website?

Boss: We’re not putting the website logo up there.

    [true story.]

  • Liz Foreman
