MySpace users may soon embed Fox videos

Cory Bergman March 6th, 2007

BusinessWeek is reporting that MySpace may soon announce that its users will be able to embed video players of their favorite Fox shows on their home pages. “Putting Fox video on those MySpace pages could be a significant source of revenue for FIM,” writes Steve Rosenbush. With tens of millions of profiles, this could ramp up very quickly. But realistically, how many people will post entire TV shows on their pages?

You’d be surprised how many people will post whole videos. As a young(ish!) member of the ipod generation, I think that we see content as being more personalised now. Due to the nature of multi channel/platform, the question of “what’s your favourite show?” is more pertinent than ever, meaning that your pick of choice is like puiting your team’s badge onto your soccer jersey. We are more defined than ever with Social networking, and as such each member is nailing every inch of personality to their savvy mast.
