Hub Weekend Web Editor — WNBC.com - New York, req #052-07

HALF TIME Hub Weekend Web Editor needed to cover news remotely for TV
news Web sites on WEEKENDS, based in New York (WNBC-TV).

SAT: 8:30 a.m. - 7 p.m. ET (with 1 hour break midday)

SUN: 8:30 a.m. - 7 p.m. ET (with 1 hour break midday)

This is a hands-on position, gathering and compiling news from a
variety of outlets, including television news partners, the Internet,
wire services as well as traditional news sources. Primarily
responsible for publishing content — including images and video –
to WNBC.com and NBC30.com. Will also remotely assist with coverage
for other NBC O&O TV station Web sites as requested, with an emphasis
on delivering breaking news accurately and posting top stories from
newscasts.

Candidates should have a four-year college degree in communications;
journalism or English and at least 2 years experience writing news
stories for a daily newspaper or broadcast news show. Complete
familiarity with AP style is required. Candidates should also be
extremely comfortable with computers and the Web, and have experience
with basic programs such as word processing software, e-mail software
and Web browsers.

The position also involves calling stations to obtain information
about stories, so we are looking for someone who is a proactive and
personable communicator and able to multi-task.
