And now my fiance wants a Wii. Non-gamers think of video gaming as isolationist -- a lonely, independent, nerdy sport -- but in actuality, it's popular in large part because of the community. Whenever I play, I'm on Xbox Live with a friend or two, connected via live audio in a virtual world. Suddenly TV is isolationist. I love the Xbox 360 and spend more time playing than watching TV. And now my fiance wants a Wii.
