WPDE is seeking an online journalist to manage all aspects of its
local news and information website. Candidate will write, edit and
aggregate local content from a multitude of sources. Must be
dedicated to the idea of localism, a journalist’s responsibility to
the communities in which they serve, and want to pioneer new concepts
and ideas. Responsible for the overall content, character, and
personality of website. Candidate will interface in the community to
build partnerships, further the brand, and expand user base. Must
have satisfactory proficiency in online AP standards. Basic HTML and
graphics editing skills preferred. Knowledge of web usability and
accessibility standards a plus. Position is salaried, and hours may
be non-traditional to accommodate a robust, 24/7 news operation.
Position is located in Conway, SC.
