Overall, though, once they got it up and running, it didn’t take long at all to get in.

When I logged on at Noon Eastern … I was VIP 56,872 or so in line. Once the games began it took less than 5 minutes to get in.

The neat thing about this year is one of the advertisers. Courtyard by Marriott has developed to Flash ads … One is basically a pop-a-shot, the other was to see how long you could keep a ball spinning on a finger.

The pop a shot gave bonus points if you could bank a shot off the “walls” of the ad. The hooked me right in.

I went for a walk arcoss the building and had been booted for inactivity…. Took about 30 seconds to get back in.

It was a pain getting logged on - took forever - and it wasn’t the most Mac friendly set-up in the world. But…eventually did get on and it ran (relatively) smoothly for the early games.

i live in arkansas. our team is one of those who “should not be in the tournament in the first place” (according to major media outlets…), so the tournament is a big flippin deal down here.

i’m signed up with a VIP pass for the online viewing, but i got a lecture earlier in the week for being one of the top 5 bandwith users in the building, so i may hold off on watching from work….

i’m excited! after this month i’m left with baseball until football starts in september! and i always fall asleep during baseball games….

It’s 9:45 Central time and I just logged on to the March Madness on Demand page - I’m # 17,075 in line for “general admission”, but more importantly there are 14,595 “VIP’s” (and growing) in front of me. Way to go CBS Sportsline! You’ve found yet another way to promise and not deliver!

Steve, I don’t think you’re wrong. I’ve never been interested in March Madness at all - it’s a very close tie between watching that and golf.

I’m actually more interested in watching the Food Eating contests on Spike.

I don’t want to make the classic journalist mistake of assuming I am my own focus group, but it just seems to me like there’s less interest in March Madness this year than in years past.

Am I wrong? As usual?

Having said that, Go Central Connecticut State! (Anyone can root for a top ranked team.)
