REGIONAL SALES DIRECTOR, TENNESSEE, REQ #047-07

JOB SUMMARY:

The Regional Sales Director will have managed a media sales team and
has been responsible for leading the sales team through rapid and
sustained growth. The candidates’ background will include: Electronic
media, Broadcasting or Cable, Radio, Interactive or Printing. This
position will provide leadership and mentoring to the General Sales
Managers, a proven track record as an excellent trainer, manager and
mentor a requirement. Sales history, which would include some
Internet packaging experience, is a plus. Looking for someone with a
passion for success, a drive for excellence, and ready for extensive
travel.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

· Manage a strategic sales relationship with local sales reps, Sales
Managers, and General Managers in six to twelve television stations
around the country.

· Instill strong sales processes, goal setting and accountability.

· Extensive training in web plus television selling.

· Coordinate with regional contacts in production to get projects
done.

· Develop Business development coordination process.

· Develop convergence coordination process.

· Build sales of our channel sections, such as money, real estate
and health.

· Prioritize regional target accounts.

· Make sales calls and close business on behalf of the television
stations.

COMPETENCIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES) REQUIRED:

· Skill in word processing, and the ability to learn other computer
software; knowledge of PowerPoint highly preferred.

· Skill with interpersonal relationships and ability to effectively
interact with all levels of staff and outside contacts. Desire to
work within a team environment.

· Skill in organizing and prioritizing of work, and following
assignments through to completion.

· Skill with data analysis and figure aptitude with a high level of
accuracy.

· Skill in written and verbal communication.

· Ability to work well under pressure with deadlines — sense of
urgency.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a variety of
personalities and work styles.

· Ability to be flexible in schedule and adaptable to constant
change.

· Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and frequent
interruptions.

· Ability to handle details with accuracy.

· Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

· Excellent public speaking and presentation skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· 2 years media sales management, agency or business development
support experience working with a group, including upper management.

· College graduate.

· Experience in television sales a major plus.
