According to that weblog, you can use non-widescreen and non-high-def TVs, as long as your TV has component inputs.

I will be waiting for Round 2 of this. Of course, if I can download shows on my Wii or save it to a SD card, I can play it from there too.

So, wait, once it's synced, you don't have to have the computer on any more?

That might not be quite a dumb as it originally appeared. It's still pretty damn stupid, though, that you can't connect directly to itunes store.

It is, after all, a farking computer.

Right, you need a computer with iTunes.

I just hooked it up and it's syncing all my content over to the Apple TV hard drive. This is going to take forever because I have a TON of video. We'll see how fast that 40GB fills up.

I was all set to buy one, but then saw it only supports widescreen TVs. Why not have an option for 4:3?

So, as far as I was able to figure out, you still need a computer as an Itunes server, that you can't just connect directly to the itunes store to get tv shows or movies.

Is that true?

Yes, we have quite a collection of remotes, but would you expect anything else?

Glad I bought the HDMI cable along with the box.

Oh great. ANOTHER remote. Could this one be any smaller? It really is quite wimpy.

Why doesn't it come with an HDMI cable? It should come with everything you need to get it working.
