Tour WSJ.com’s video facilities
Cory Bergman March 23rd, 2007
Beet.TV got an inside look at Dow Jones Online’s video facilities, which include Avid and Final Cut Pro editing and a studio with a remote-controlled camera. Wall Street Journal reporters are “gradually” getting their own video cameras, and Walt Mossberg records clips of himself off his webcam and FTPs them in. As we’ve mentioned before, WSJ.com’s videos are fully sharable and embeddable through a partnership with Brightcove.

Too bad they didn’t explain why they have both Avid and FCP — is the Avid used for finishing?

you know…
the tech part of this is irrelevant… newspapers need to figure out what the HECK video they should shoot to start with
they have no clue what should actually BE video…
it’s like someone reading the newspaper on radio… they NEED to grow a brain, not spend their time figuring out what Avid system to buy
of course, using your brain to do anything other than “gotcha” journalism is hard work… so… we’ll be seeing bad video from newspapers for years to come.. sadly
