More changes at National Geographic Channel

We already noted John Ford’s departure, now comes the news that National Geographic Channel’s founding president, Laureen Ong, is departing to become chief operating officer of News Corp’s Star. David Haslingden will become CEO of National Geographic Channel U.S. in addition to his international duties for NG and Fox. Steve Schiffman has been named acting general manager. Only six years into the game, NGC ranked 39th in prime time among ad-based cable nets with 60 million homes in 2006.
