New MarthaStewart.com launches with deep archives

Cory Bergman April 10th, 2007

The site producers dug deep into the archives and posted 15 years worth of tips on the relaunched MarthaStewart.com. “We went back and we retagged and reindexed every piece of content we’ve got,” said the company’s chief executive, Susan Lyne. “When you search for chicken, you’re getting 6,000 results, you’re not getting 40 results.” The new site also features 700 video clips of cooking and how-to advice. Please tell me where to buy good socks that has the

bottom of the sock fixed so that I won’t fall. Sometimes

I’ve seen them with dots or pictures of things. I would like

to buy some for gifts for Christmas. I prefer white with

    different colors on the bottom.

Last year this time, you showed a new piece of electronic equipment that could transfer old out of print vhs movies on to dvd format. I believe it was at radio shack and was about $80. No one at radioshack knows anything about this and I have no idea what to ask for. Can you help? Thank you.

Probably, 6-7 years ago there was a segment on one of the Martha Stewart morning shows about homemade baby food, recipes, suggested containers, templates, etc. I bought the containers, printed the recipes, bought bibs, burp cloths, spoons, etc. and made a lovely baby shower gift basket. I have since bought a new computer and somehow the information, etc was not tranfserred to the new one. Can you tell if you have it in the archives and if so, how I can access it. It was a great success and my niece has her first baby on the way and I would love to make a gift basket for her. Love the shows, magazine, products, etc. I am a hugh Martha Stewart fan and have been for years. Thank You for any help you can give me.

Are there any tapings of the old shows, I mean the ones before the new show? I miss those shows so much. Not that the new show isn’t good. I just loved the shows with just you and the single guest and all the places you took us. I have learned so much from those shows, I quite frequently answer the question where did youlearn that by saying Martha. Missing the old days.

A overly helpful houseguest used a ‘brillo’ pad on my stainless steel range top. It is especially noticable around the burner controls. What can I do to minimize the ’scratches’? I told my husband if anyone had ideas it was you.

A few years ago, Martha did an interview with a black New York Quilt/Fiber artist, whose work was shown in the Smithsonian. The interview took place in his New York apartment, and his first name was Michael, he also has books showing his quilt art. I would like to know where to buy his books. Thank you, Nancy Asher.

Martha showed how to make a blanket without any sewing. It was made of a felt like blanket material. The outside edges were clipped about every 4 or 5 inches apart and 2or3 inches into the body of the square. There were 2 pieces of fabric right sides together. After the clipping around all the edges, the clipped pieces were “tied” together to make a blanket. Could you tell me how to find that show and the directions for the blanket?

    Thank you, Sue Blanton
