The ultimate convention press release

Steve Safran April 11th, 2007

I wrote last week about how we’re getting smothered at One LR Plaza by irrelevant PR materials for NAB. We don’t mind good, relevant information related to stories that the LR Faithful care about. But when you’re on the NAB press list, the fact is that many exhibitors don’t care about the space you cover - they just spam like crazy. So I’m writing a composite press release, using the words from the releases that have been sent to me. Yes - this is an entirely plagiarized piece, remixing words randomly. I don’t feel bad, though - they’re the ones who sent me this stuff.

Dear Steve,

File-based workflows are new video encoding breakthroughs. At NAB, we will detail the latest broadcast and production innovations in video for digital media producers, including the industry’s fastest encoding engine turnkey solution. B2B, right out of the native box, transcoding from 0.5 to 25 Mbps.

As the the leading technology provider of IP video convergence solutions revolutionizing mobile, we will host a a remarkably wide operating scale day of HD panels and presentations that examine digital upstream production and downstream post exhibition. B2C community MPEG-4/AVC solution.

“Our tutorials and graphic templates provide an exceptional experience for our customers and image sensors,” said the director of our private bus tour. “All you have to do is apply pre-defined introductory learning wizards to enhance the full-digital process programming!” B2B and B2C including full support for interlaced video (MBAFF).

Pete Rose will be signing autographs. Please make sure to include this in your next online or print edition without impacting a FPGA architecture viewing experience.

Regarding your industries, we’re offering a free one-month subscription to get up and running quickly. Encoding one-piece compact servo-filter rack mounts will be included throughout the cutting-edge distribution channels and headend to modernize VK list handling with this fresh approach to MXF.

If you’re interested in a new half-rack base station product demo from the leader in clustered storage for digital content, we will employ advanced full-digital process ASIC’s and 14-bit A/D conversion for exceptional rendition of color gradation, then come to our groundbreaking new partnership news conference at the Las Vegas Convention Center on Monday, April 16 at 8:30 a.m.

Lunch will be served.

All my NAB email from vendors with their invitations and promotional info have been getting caught in my work junk email filter. I haven’t bothered releasing it to read it because I won’t be attending this year.

Thanks for letting me know what I’ve been missing. :-)

    Perfect!
My VK list has been out of control for weeks. I’m relieved that 14bit A/D coversion has been released so I can replace my old 13 bit system and Application Specific Integrated Circuits are soooo 1980.

But mostly, I still have to find a free breakfast.

You should ingest all the text from these news releases, then drop the words into a tag cloud. Not only would it tell you what everyone’s pitching out there, but it might help you with this all-in-one news release. But so far you’re off to a great start on your own!

Make sure you check out the Rockwell Retro-Encabulator while you’re there. Sounds like something that would be marketed toward you. In case you need to check your ‘dingle alarm’ for ’sinosoidal repleniration’.
