I don’t sit in front of a tv all day, I sit in front of a computer. Live blogging this horrific event or the NAB show is a great way to keep up to the minute.

I don’t know the stats but they would be interesting: number of eyes in front of computers vs tv sets in a given day and the time spent.

The Twin Cities Fox affiliate has sent a reporter to Blacksburg, who has been reporting live during the morning news. Ironically, he was talking about how the police are sitting on the identity of the shooter so they can perform their investigation “unhindered by the media.”

Would that be a “pot vs. kettle” thing, or a “glass houses” thing?

I’m always torn on blogging breaking news. It adds a feeling of immediacy, but it also feels like I’m getting less information compared to a regularly-updated story. I got that feeling reading Roanoke’s blog in particular. As a sidebar to the regular story, I’d feel better informed.
