I requested respectfully that all my posts on this site be removed. A request that has not been honored. Check out what got me removed under McKinney, titled, “The Red Flags of Apathy.” The Dallas News prior forum site was a disgrace and was finally shut down because of the poor job the administrators of this site were doing. The same jerks run this site! Avoid participation if you fall into the intelligent class..(which I now am, since my removal lol)..it is just a tool for more advertising sales and increase in circulation….the Dallas News and sub of BELO could care less about making any community better and that includes the now stupid column, “Collin County opinions” that is overseen by the biggest jerk editor in history.

As long as one plays “nicey-nice,” everything is wonderful, but post an article that is negative about a community, such as I did about McKinney and your “account….membership” is removed from site without explanation.

Seems like an interesting approach to the old “news by the people” bit. Cool that you can filter everything by topic (part of town or “section” of the paper).

I know it’s new, but all of the stories I checked out in my brief visit seemed to be advertisements for local businesses written by the owner… ex. “The store in Cedar Hill opened on August 25, 2006. It is known for its great service and offers a full line of quality furniture for homes and home offices.”

Can these alleged community user content portals really replace actual original sites such as placeblogs — at least, the really good ones, already entrenched in their communities? Reminds me of the portal rush in the late ’90s. Most failed.
