2007 - Director of New Media Job Description:
The Director of New Media is a department-head level position
reporting directly to the President and General Manager of the
station. The director is responsible for managing the day-to-day
operations and revenue development of KRISTV.COM and its extended
media applications.
BASIC DUTIES: This position is primarily responsible for developing
sales strategies and policies, executing plans, managing and guiding
sales activities and programs for the organization to achieve maximum
sales potential for online products. Essential duties and
responsibilities include managing the sales and content team,
overseeing daily activities and providing direction and leadership;
developing sales solutions and strategies to fulfill growth and
revenue goals of the organization; expanding existing customer/site
viewer base and overall online metrics to generate revenue;
establishing accountabilities and performance objectives. Additional
responsibilities include project management, strategy development,
budgeting, and web sales education/training of local sales staff in
coordination with General Sales Manager. The Director of New Media
is also responsible to regularly report to and communicate with our
corporate digital division on revenue and implement corporate
initiatives.
EXPERIENCE: Prior documented sales experience and success is
required as new business development and revenue generation is a
major focus. Prior web content experience is helpful. A successful
candidate will have a track record of excellence in all areas of
sales and management, be an outstanding leader and work cooperatively
within the management team. A bachelor’s degree is preferred and a
background in television and/or newspaper internet sales is a plus.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
•Sales professional with 5+ years of progressively responsible
roles in online and/or offline media
•Knowledge of intricacies of online advertising (ad serving
metrics, etc.)
•Strong strategic and tactical sales skills
•Proven leadership abilities and strong team player
characteristics
•Proven track record of new business development
• Ability to establish relationships at all levels of the
organization including the most senior levels
• Impressive presentation and communication skills
