Cory’s work wives
Steve Safran April 25th, 2007
Yes, Kate’s getting all the attention this week and rightly so. But Warley and I have been there with Cory at One LR, serving him since damn near the start. We may not look good in a dress, and we might not be “attractive” or even “mildly pleasant” but we are Cory’s Work Wives. Here’s a picture, just released by the RTNDA, of the Lost Remote panel at last week’s conference:

That’s Bergman on the left, obviously thinking more about his wedding than whatever it is that I (center) am over-emoting about. Meantime, Warley (right) tries out his new beard, taking it on the road for the first time.

Hi guys. Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed your presentations.
And I am THE MAN at work, thanks to all the ideas I came back with.

AWESOME. Great feedback, Chris. And great to hear that - despite the visual evidence to the contrary - we were enjoyable.

“And I am… teeeeeeeeelllllling you, I’m not goooooooooiiiin’…!” Oh, and Saf, you look like you’ve shead a few pounds - you’re supposed to do that BEFORE you embark on a TV career!

Make that “shed”.

Ah, yes. About that. I’ve lost 20 pounds since I left TV and about 40 overall. I should write a whole column about that. The deal is this: when you’re in a TV newsroom, they bring in tons of crap for you to eat. Every time there’s a breaking news story, they order pizza and steak bombs. (And when you’re at an all-news channel, that’s a lot of breaking news stories and a lot of pizzas.) When there isn’t breaking news, it’s the standard issue lots of candy and brownies and whatever leftover cake someone brought in. And on the AM show there is always doughnuts and bagels with cream cheese.
So the diet is a simple one. I call it the: “Get Out of a TV Newsroom” plan.

and i always heard it was the camera that added the extra pounds! now we know the truthiness behind the media’s lies!
once again, lost remote has the scoop, and in this case, make it two scoops with sprinkles.
so, saf, if you and warley are the work wives, does that make liz and me the work mistresses?
11. Safran | April 26th, 2007 at 8:55 am
Obviously, Liz is well above the fray. She’s the “Yes, ma’am, we will do whatever you say, just please don’t beat us again” partner.
As for you, yeah, “Mistress David” has a nice ring to it.
