The Flip is cool, but it has its challenges. Highly recommend you use it for quick shooting and basic editing like iMovie (old version only). We spent 3 months shooting mini documentaries with the Flip for a graduate class at UW. Check out our tutorials and advice on how to get the most out of the Flip at flipthemedia.com

I got this camera and the video works great -- good quality and easy to use... BUT the audio stinks.. you can barely hear it even up close. That is a huge disppoinment and I will probably return it -- too bad it is really cute.

as a person who is not too computer literate. Can you record videos from this camera to cds that you can then play on your cd player on your TV?

Well FYE DID INDEED have a a few for about 80 bucks. I also heard a few stores sold them cheaper too. I got one and loved it. Maybe the price was involved but it is a great buy.

i've got an even more recently updated version of this camera. they come in all kinds of colors, just look on Amazon, or target.com or walmart. They've all got 'em. I've seen pink, light green, soft touch black.

Tried the Flip and tried the Casio S880. Both cameras provided easy access to You Tube although the Casio was much more featured, had a much better video and audio quality and featured 3-4 hours of video for a little higher price

@ M.Tahiri

You say there are better? where is your proof? This is the first one I have seen that incorporates a USB plug in the camera for immediate connection to the computer. What other one has that capability?

This little gadget is great. It's not perfect but for a hundred bucks it's more than worth the price. Everyone in a newsroom should have one of these in the glovebox of their car in case of breaking news. You'll need to get the IT guys to set up the right codec on your editing system, but once it's installed getting video to the NLE is a snap with the built in USB. I actually interviewed one of our photogs who fell down and injured himself during a story and the video could've been easily used on air. Far superior quality than most cell phone video.

I just bought this camera this weekend and I love it. I was suprised with the audio...I was upstairs filming an interview and you can still hear the trucks that pass by outside of my home. I also told my boss about it so we can incorporate it during meetings, leaving messages, blogs, for our websites, and more. I am usually computer challenged, however, this was so simple, I didn't get frustrated once.

Just bought it and if you have children big or small this camera is the way to go. It is small enough to fit in your pocket or purse and allows you to pull it out at a moments notice to get you kids doing something cool.

Camera works great, but unless you've got a sterile environment, you'll have trouble hearing the audio it records. Still, it's worth the price.
