The strength and resources of the number one television station in
Kansas are behind a new website for all those raving sports fans of
high school athletics. We need a dynamic, organized individual who
loves sports and can deliver the best high school sports coverage
on-line to Kansans.

The Web Editor will be responsible maintaining the exciting new
website. Responsibilities include: Implement comprehensive Web site
and Develop accessibility and Web presence. Assist in photo research,
development, procurement and archiving tasks.

Skills in Web, illustration, word processing, and archiving software
programs such as Dreamweaver, ColdFusion, Adobe Photoshop and
Microsoft Office and languages such as html, xml and CSS. Skill in
writing and editing for Web publication, especially scientific
publication. Skill in use of Mac OS. Knowledge of photo databases,
GoLive! and Flash! programs, and Web compliance issues desirable. An
interest in sports is a plus. Demonstrated organizational and
time-management skills.

- Reviewing samples of content and objectively scoring the relevance
of the content to targeted topics, so that the technology can
continually improve

- Reviewing groups of content, objectively deciding whether or not
content is correctly grouped, and removing/recategorizing content
that has been improperly grouped together

- Building and maintaining taxonomies that will be used as inputs
into our technology platform

The ideal candidate should:

- Be available immediately.

- Love organizing information.

- Be extremely organized & efficient.

- Be fast, accurate and be able to deal well with deadlines / time
pressure.

- Willingness to roll up sleeves and do the “heavy lifting.”

- Work on-site.

- Have an MLIS degree (this is a plus, but not absolutely necessary).
In lieu of an MLIS, prior work experience with collecting and
organizing/classifying a lot of information and maintaining
taxonomies / ontologies.

The web editor must be willing to work a flexible shift with some
late evening and weekend work.
