Joost experiences some glitches
Cory Bergman May 3rd, 2007
A few people are having some issues with Joost hanging up now that it has moved into a “public beta.” We gave out over 100 invites, and you can imagine how many people across the world have joined in the past couple days. I just logged on but Joost is stuck in infinite “coming soon” mode. It is in beta, after all.

I get a tvprunner.exe error message. It seems this is a persistent problem with many other people.
I do appreciate the invite Safran provided me with. Hope I can get this to work at some point.

I’ve been getting “This program is temporarily unavailable” messages in the middle of programs.
Now, nobody gets to blame me for any of the problems… I just sent out the invites…

At work I get the buffering programming and ‘Coming soon’ stuff Cory mentioned. Probably at network thing at the office.
At home however I was able to watch it for about three hours with about one or two crashes every hour. Seemed to crash more when I was doing things like importing RSS feeds, searching for content and configuring my favorite channel lineup. It’s a public beta so I expected a crash here and there.
With that said … it’s an awesome program and has huge potential.

Hasn’t worked in the office for me … and at home it crashes my router if I stop something that’s playing and try to play another clip/show.
