EXECUTIVE PRODUCER- NATIONAL TEAM: REQ #075-07

We’re looking for a journalist who knows news and knows what
completes the ‘user experience’ online! This is a management and
hands on position! This person will assist the national news team in
developing great content and turning that into appealing multi-media
packages for our partner sites. You will assist the national news
managers in ensuring that our team is delivering the best content
possible in all content areas.

The ideal person knows news, knows what drives online content, knows
online design and basic web applications. The successful candidate
will be able to balance the demands of managing a number of projects,
effectively manage people in a productive environment as needed and
still maintain a focus on delivering the best core products possible
across the national content team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Works with project teams to create and maintain content expectations

Coordinates and creates various multi-media elements to deliver a
great ‘user-experience’ for stories

Writes and edits materials integrating compelling and creative text,
still images, audio- and video-file components, and uses relevant
Internet resources to compile an appealing and thoughtful online news
package

Develops special content sections as needed

Adds design elements, including Flash, as needed for stories and
content sections

Assists in managing daily national news content as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES)
REQUIRED:

Degree in Journalism or related media field

Experience in Flash and design

Working knowledge of html

3-5 years prior experience working for in an online news environment,
television news station or daily newspaper

Prior supervisory experience helpful

Knowledge of editing and AP stylebook standard

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong knowledge and familiarity with the Internet

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office 2000 applications
