Maybe I'm in a minority, but I'll accept product placement "ads" in the show content itself (I've heard blatant product mentions in place of generic terms lately, like "where'd you get that new Pontiac?" rather than "where'd you get that new car?") - rather than make me sit through commercials. I have an ulterior motive: someday soon I want to be able to set up a DVR to download the shows I want to watch, while I'm at work, and I'd rather just download the show.

Any model that says "We don't care what the customer wants, this is what they're going to get" will not succeed.

Maybe it's just me or I'm missing something, but "Grey's", "Housewives" and "Lost" are all available on ABC's website.

Great point, I would hope it's just disabled through the commercials themselves.

If the commercials are unobtrusive I might suffer through them, but for the love of god don't disable my ability to skip through the show itself. Frequently I'm not interested in part of a show, and sometimes I've already seen part of it. Who is going to sit through an hour show just to catch that last 10 minutes you missed?
