Boston.com launches Monster jobs section

Boston.com has taken the wraps off a new co-branded jobs section powered by Monster.com called Boston.com/monster. And NYTimes.com will launch something similar in the near future.

BOSTON & MAYNARD, Mass.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The Boston Globe, Boston.com and Monster®, the leading global online careers and recruitment resource and flagship brand of Monster Worldwide, Inc. (NASDAQ: MNST),have launched a new Web site designed to offer Boston area employers and job seekers the ultimate employment resource. The new site can be found at www.boston.com/monster

The site is the next step in a strategic alliance announced by The New York Times Company, parent company of The Boston Globe and Boston.com, and Monster Worldwide in February 2007. Joining BostonWorks.com and Monster.com, the site brings together two of the strongest recruitment resources in the Boston region and is poised to be the overwhelming online careers leader, reaching approximately 70 percent of seekers in the market.(a)

The co-branded site offers job seekers and employers all of the local features and functionality previously found on BostonWorks.com with Monster’s leading jobs database, resume database and innovative career tools and content. The new site will continue to offer targeted career-focused editorial from the pages of The Boston Globe Careers section and innovative ways to search for jobs (e.g. by commute, by industry).

    and in another sign that we never learn from our past mistakes…

    take a look at the mnst daily chart; the minute the press release went out the shares of monster jumped a buck and a half after trading flat in the morning. they eventually settled back to up about .50 on the day.

    dotcom bubble 2.0 anyone???
