Didn’t Letterman do this 22 years ago in front of the GE building?

    Thank you!

Exactly, a very lame ripoff of a very worn and endlessly repeated Letterman bit done in the GE lobby in NY (done after GE purchased Letterman’s then-employer NBC).

Yet, since the internet has facilitated so much rampant plagiarism by students and writers, perhaps this uncreative, lazy mimmickry is both appropriate and very “Web 2.0″

See for yourself, the Letterman clip from April 14, 1986 is on YouTube.

(Search: “Letterman GE”). (clip is: VMGPO_Fng9g)

Well done, Wallstrip, original, creative, and brilliant.

“What if we did the Letterman GE Building bit?”

“Yeah! Only we staged most of it!”

“And we weren’t, you know, Letterman!”

After watching a few of the videos, I can see why the article says Wallstrip attracts a predominately male audience. Obviously, not all of it is due to stock market demographics.

Nonetheless, it’s too bad that CBS offloaded Marketwatch because I could see the two products meshing, somewhat. In the article, they say that they’re going to keep all of their recent investments as separate identities, but based on the experience of TW/AOL and Yahoo!, you’d think they’d rethink that policy before too long.

Steve, please delete the pathetic spam messages above [from "!"] for “the pittsbughchannel” nonsense.

it’s not spam. but steve or cory can delete it if they wish.

! was simply pointing out a local station that is actually DOING SOMETHING specially for the web.

! guess i better not tell you about the weatherman and his sidekick at theindychannel who do something they call ‘off the cuff’ that is one of their most viewed videos every day, eh?

I have been watching Wallstrip from day one. I think it’s very entertaining, some days are better then others. IMO these are the shows local TV stations should be creating for the web. Congrats to the Wallstrip crew!
