Responsibilities:

WBZ-TV Web Producer job opening is an editorial position that produces daily news material for wbztv.com and help maintain the overall integrity of the site.

Duties include writing, editing, and researching news stories, optimizing video and imagery, producing live video content for the web, working with third-party content to integrate it into the site, and helping to adapt other TV material for the web site.

Working with WBZ-TV news producers and management to provide added value for stories on the News.

Web producers will also be responsible for managing user-generated content in all areas of the site.

Qualifications:

Candidates for this job must demonstrate solid news judgment, excellent news writing skills, be detail oriented, and self-motivated. Web producers must be able to multi-task several projects, and work well under pressure to meet demanding deadlines.

A minimum of three years experience in a large market television, radio, or newspaper newsroom, and a minimum one year of online news experience.

Applicants must be strong writers with a good portfolio of online news writing and producing. Additional skills in the area of web production (HTML) are a plus.

Candidates must have a college degree, preferably in journalism or a related field. The candidate must have a strong command of all current events, including local news, national news, world news, cultural affairs and sports.
