The Digital National Sales Executive’s primary responsibility is to
aggressively pursue digital media ad sales directly with interactive
and traditional advertising agencies, as well as directly to all
relevant clients and generate national online revenue over our CBS
owned and operated TV Stations web sites (www.cbslocal.com). This
position requires a proven track record of driving revenue through
the development of long term relationships with clients and agencies.
Candidate must have demonstrated the ability to manage complex
negotiations to successful closure and delivery, as well as the
ability to convert national offline advertising dollars to online.
This individual will manage the sales and service of all advertising
schedules they sell across the local CBS TV Stations online network.
Reporting to the Director of National Advertising Sales, this
position will be responsible for regularly reporting advertising
sales revenue, sales and inventory forecasting and CPM analysis in
relation to plan. Ideal candidates will have an understanding of
high tech and consumer sales and marketing. They will be on top of
shifting media trends, and how the web is impacting marketplaces and
companies’ business models. They will demonstrate an ability to think
creatively, sell strategically, and communicate efficiently internally
and externally.
Responsibilities:
- Generate new business by growing ad sales revenue and exceed
revenue goals by prospecting for new clients in national sales
- Will set and own territory sales agenda including,
prioritizing and organizing sales calls based on maximum potential
return.
- On-going coordination with National Sales Director on account
strategy and sales plans
- Work closely with Ad Sales Operations to coordinate all ad
sales
- Effectively monitor and evaluate the network’s online inventory
and their current pricing
- Regularly manage agency/client relationships
- Meet and exceed revenue goals
- Sell multi-market ad packages to national online and traditional
advertising agencies
- Collaborate with Director of National Advertising Sales, Marketing
Services Manager, Business Development Manager, Director of Research
and Editorial staff to help:
o Bringing relevant local opportunities and helping to develop
effective research and innovative marketing tools by pinpointing
online consumer trends necessary to create category and
advertiser-specific strategic solutions
o Prepare and review sales reports and periodic forecasts
Qualifications (The ideal candidate will have):
o Minimum 2 years of online advertising sales along with 5 years of
other media sales experience (TV, radio or newspaper sales
experience, is a plus).
o BS / BA degree required
o Dedicated and driven work ethic, excellent writing skills,
comfortable making presentations to all size groups (5-50),
outstanding computer skills, 10% travel required

To whom it may concern:
I am incredibly enthusiastic about becoming an Account Executive in the near future. I am currently a Sales Assistant at a major Spanish TV Network in Los Angeles. I would like to ask some advice of you in order to guide me in the right direction as far as the contacts I need to be making aside from the ones I’ve established, material I should learn, etc… I am bilingual and am well aware of our growing demo and our need for online advertising. I will be willing to relocate when the time comes also. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
