"The Office" was a proven hit in the UK and on BBC America. Silverman just brought it over, with a lot of the original team intact. The same "mining" has gone into reality programming. So, though NBC has faltered and has made some big mistakes, I don't really see this change being good for "quality" and I even suspect that if you have BBC America, you may be previewing NBC's midseason replacements.

I also cringe to think about the reality show guy replacing a "quality" show guy (although the Office is the best comedy on television today), firing this guy might not be such a bad thing.

Is this the guy that's responsible for taking the prime-time schedule on vacation from February to April and randomly gave shows the night off - ruining any pattern of watching shows? Is this guy responsible for screwing with the programming times with the "super-sized episodes" and having shows go until 9:02 - becoming the bane of every DVR-owner's existence? If that's the case, this guy needs to go.

When I first heard this was happening, I couldn't but think that it sounds like a possible plotline from "Studio 60";
The reality show guy is set to replace the dude who is into quality.
