NBCU: $1 Billion in digital revenue this year
Michael Gay June 14th, 2007
That’s right, billion. In a presentation to analysts on Thursday, NBC Universal says the digital revenue this year is forecast to hit $1B and next year that number is expected to grow an additional 50 percent, a year ahead of forecast. NBC.com is only credited for $20 million of that $1B. Interestingly, the site did report 41 million video streams, up 250 percent. “The media pie is definitely getting bigger,” NBC Universal Integrated Media President Beth Comstock told Reuters. “We’re ahead of plan in terms of the profitability and the revenue we’re able to bring about in digital.”

the analyst in me has to ask how they arrive at $1B when their flagship property is doing 1/50th of that?

I agree completely…would love to see someone uncover how they reach that number…

i took the liberty of going over to paidcontent and reading a bit more on this.
the $20 million looks like operating profit vs. revenue.
that still leaves a lot to be desired on how you get to the $1B part.
frankly, i’d settle for a simple name given to their “newsite, newco, jv, newscorp/nbcu-youtubekiller” before it launches…which happens to have been pushed.
