Digg launches new comments system, users revolt

Don Day June 21st, 2007

And you thought the feedback you got on your last site redesign was bad… Digg rolled out a new comments system - and the living organism that is the Digg community is in revolt. From the dugg story on the mess: “Dear Digg: we are not going to be force fed this POS. Get over yourselves and realize that this new system is not working out.” Ouch.

It looks like now you have to login to post comments. Is that what is new? I don’t read comments enough to notice the difference. I just read the headlines.

that ‘youtube international’ addition hasn’t faired much better.

there were about 400 comments posted the other day… all of them negative.

On digg you always had to be logged into to post comments.

In general, the “revolting” by users is what has driven me away from the site.

There’s still too much opinion; not enough news.
