iPhone live shot interrupted by mic theft
Michael Gay June 30th, 2007
A crazy video, and a reminder for us how dangerous a live shot can be. This Fox News reporter was on the street of New York adding hype for the new iPhone when a man grabs the network’s microphone and runs off. No one was hurt.

the crazy part was he had an equally good opportunity to grab the iphone from the interviewee as he had it in-hand.
that fox flagged mic will fetch no more than $5 at pawn. the iphone at least $20.
if you could get hold of olberman though that mic would be priceless.

he WAS trying to steal the iphone. He reached in quickly without looking when the mic just happened to in front of the iphone. Listen again to the reporter states that fact.

On one hand, I’m impressed with the reporter did not get flustered and she immediately tried to get back quickly to the story she was supposed to be reporting.
On the other, I felt frustrated that when the story changed, she didn’t follow the new story.

He wasn’t trying to take the iPhone. He was an Anti-Fox person who was trying to make a ’statement’ against the network

A pie in the face would’ve shut down the interview entirely.
