EBay launches ‘kijiji’ in United States
Don Day July 3rd, 2007
EBay is the latest high profile company to dive in to the lucrative classifieds game. Kijiji launched overseas in 2005, but now the company is expanding to the US. Right now the site is a pure “free” classifieds site, with no upsell for consumers - though eBay told the Wall Street Journal that it will explore those options down the road. “We look at Kijiji as being competitive with Craigslist as well as the other classified platforms in the U.S.,” eBay spokesperson Hani Durzy said.
