I listened to your podcast. Agreed about NBBC. Agreed about CNN redesign. Then went to CNN.com and saw this top featured story. Girl disemboweled in pool 1:51 Didn't click. Won't bother with their video anymore.

This one almost sounds like a segment from "All Things Considered", except with Cory Flintoff being on vacation or something.

The production values for "Get Lost" continues to improve.
Good job, dudes.

Though...

If I paid for Pipeline; Cory paid for Pipeline and now we've learned that Steve subscribed; I don't know if that should qualify as "destined to fail" and personally, I'd be interested in seeing their viewing stats comparing Pipeline to pre-Pipeline, when you had to have a RealPass to view CNN Video. After all, up until a few days ago, CNN video has always been a fee-based service.

And, though, I was positive in the beginning, I'm now mixed on the redsign/relaunch.

Because the homepage is so sparce and whole categories are missing, I find that I'm spending less time on their site.

Plus, their live video now goes dark in the middle of the night. There's no more watching local reporters prepare for their morning stand-up; I doubt I'll be able to watch a former President lying in state and though there was news from Europe last night, I had to load-up the BBC because CNNi wasn't available via the site.

Also, one of the things that I really liked about Pipeline was the ability to mark it as always-on-top and pin it to the corner of the screen. That way, I could have my television tuned to one thing and monitor the news via my workstation.

Now, not only have I lost the always-on-top (which could easily be addressed with javascript), but it won't even let me resize the window any more and their player insists on taking-up a huge amount of screen. As I said in a comment to their blog (which is still awaiting moderation): If I wanted to watch television, I'd sit in front of the television and because their player isn't conducive to just being part of my screen, I have to make a choice between monitoring CNN's live video and doing work. Perhaps, if something important was happening, I'd choose to watch, but I can no longer just let it run in the background, while I do other things with the rest of my screen.

could cnn's timing be any "god damn" better?

they had the bomb plots overseas at launch and then tonight (via cnn international) the release of the bbctv guy.

the player worked marvy! and the video of his release was nice and shaky which made you feel like you were right in the melee.

excellent.

CBS19 has nothing on Bowling Green's own WNKY, where their weather dog - aptly named 'Radar' - is up there with the rest of the news anchors on Mt. Rushmore - and in a giganterrific 728x90 rotating banner as well - but ALSO has his own section on the website with his bio and pictures from community events he's attended.

Yup, WNKY has truly gone to the ... never mind.
