Live Earth streaming sets Internet record

Michael Gay July 7th, 2007

MSN is so pleased for having the Live Earth online streaming rights that they already have announced they broke a new record for the number of live streams for an entertainment program. According to MSN, they delivered 9 million live streams of the worldwide music concerts. “We have exceeded any other online entertainment event,” MSN product manager Karin Muskopf told Reuters. “It’s really exciting to see the enthusiasm for the concert.”

Side note: How annoying was it that the streams wouldn’t work in Firefox?

Apparently not annoying enough for 9 million people…

I was pretty surprised to see the error message when loading it up in Firefox.. thought those days were long gone. Watched some of it in FF but the extra features meant I forced myself to use IE7.

Amazing…MSN set it up to mess with the FF users. I felt dirty using IE.

It ain’t easy being a Machead or a Firefoxer.

But the rewards of paradise are ours.

Messing with Firefox users is more important than saving the Earth.

I watched online in Firefox for Mac yesterday and didn’t have any trouble… there as a quciktime stream, and I was quite pleased (and surprised honestly) that it worked.
